World Hepatitis Day Press Release #1

Click here for a press release to announce the launch of the global viral teaser campaign – ‘Am I Number 12?’  As you know, global organizers will be launching the online strategy shortly, and to tie-in with this, have developed a press release that you can send to your media to inform them of the campaign.

The embargo for this press release is Thursday, April 24. This date has been planned to coincide with the 43rd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL).  Please do not distribute this press release before Thursday 24 April.  We hope this press release will help you generate media coverage around the campaign in the run-up to World Hepatitis Day.

What you can do:

-Add information to this press release to discuss activities planned in your own state/county/city.
-Add your contact details to the end of the press release
-Attach photos that you have of the ‘Am I Number 12?’ logo being used in your area
-Send the press release to all of your media contacts on Thursday, April 24 and let them know that you will be sending them further information on Monday May 19, 2008
-Call your media contacts and journalists to see if they are interested in covering the story

-Send the global team any articles / coverage that you achieve. Worldhepday@fleishman.com

Global Landmark Project

An inexpensive, but effective way to show that groups all over the world are involved in raising awareness of the issues around chronic viral hepatitis will be to show images of the teasers in recognizable global locations. Global organizers will then collate these images into a variety of formats and distribute them to planners throughout the world so they can be used in local media and government campaigns, put on your websites, at meetings etc. to show that you are part of a global movement.

It is vital that you capture on camera examples of these teaser activities and forward them to the global team as early as you can. In order to make this recognizably global, these images need to include some cultural reference (e.g. someone wearing an “Am I Number 12?” T-shirt in front of a landmark; or a bus with an “Am I Number 12?” advert passing in front of a landmark; or people carrying “Am I number 12?” umbrellas in front of a landmark; or people holding “Am I number 12?” balloons in front of a landmark; or people holding a banner of “Am I number 12?” in front of a landmark, etc etc etc). Unfortunately there is not a clearinghouse to order products with the logo, but you are encouraged to print the logo for promotional items, etc. in your area.  Please send your digital images to worldhepday@fleishman.com .

Case Studies
Global organizers would like to include patient stories on the global World Hepatitis Day campaign website, and would like your help!  They are hoping to include at least three case studies from each global region.  Based on the information that you share with them, they will write short stories about the patients – which will then be sent to you for approval and which will then be included on the global website. In addition, it would be great if you could share a color photo.

In order to write the articles, organizers would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions and send the information and this consent form to worldhepday@fleishman.com by no later than Friday 18th April:
